Not read the fred, but saw the boys name, and then White, so a brief interruption if you don't mind

Lee is an ex Brampton boy, so a top man, albeit he could be a cunt, but with mitigation

White is a Sturgeon, a dodgy pontificating, ex pis head, self righteous Sturgeon - by default a cunt without mitigation

Got that off my chest, thank you - as you were

Re: Lee Clayton
Seems to me the main issue is with Jim White, or comments other pundits/presenters may have made rather than Clayton himself.

But not sure what he should do censor anyone from comments on West Ham, just because he is a fan, notice some fans got on there high horse as Carlton Cole said on Talksport he thought the board deserved some credit for us being in 5th place, that was having A DIG in some way, as I said in before, some seem to look for the smallest of things to get offended by………

Aberdeen, is the rumour correct then and GEO is your boy?

Then please tell us more, a "He is" is well, rather vague!

"you have the problem if you think it's normal for a club owner to go on a live radio show just before a cup game, and say he'd rather not go through to the next round because it would cost him too much money in travelling expenses"

When did i say that or any words to that affect? If anything i agree with you! but not sure why its Lee Claytons fault either, Maybe thinks it’s as ludicrous as the rest of us?

Would agree on him being a wind up merchant at times, but what I don’t get is that some seem to think he’s some kind of board lapdog, spokesman or supporter?

Not sure its just West Ham fans he or talksport dig out, seems all 20 PL clubs fans have an issue with it, maybe too many are looking for things to be offended or outraged by, seems to be how the modern world reacts, but each to there own I suppose.

I didn't threaten anyone, it was meant as a joke. you have the problem if you think it's normal for a club owner to go on a live radio show just before a cup game, and say he'd rather not go through to the next round because it would cost him too much money in travelling expenses. lee clayton did well for himself long before taking the job at talksport, I used to watch him on sky twenty years ago on the hold the back page show, so all this 'working class done good' stuff is irrelevant. the fans have a problem with one particular host, because he lies and winds up the fanbase on a regular basis. he doesn't do it to any other fans. he was even making out the other day that the fans were outraged at the coufal signing, which was complete bollocks. a few got the hump that dawson was being loaned, and that ended once they'd seen him play. white is a shit stirrer and knows exactly what he's doing with his snide remarks, and as long as he does it he'll attract negative responses

"you better not MPI, as that board poodles aussie wanker would be wearing it"

Hahahahaha, Do you suffer from little bloke syndrome Takashi? All this venting of spleans and threats now...

I bet you do, im right arnt i?

Seems the vast majority realize that you can in fact support the move for new owners of West Ham, without yelling at the current owners you’re a cunt etc if you happen to be interviewing them on talksport!

Maybe try getting out a bit more rather than acting all hard on the internet.

I bow to your personal experience of listening to Talksport. I assume you are suggesting that Lee should get rid of the presenters that irritate you but it is possible that other listeners like them. Personally I find Ally McCoist OK (Soccer Saturday on Sky) and so it comes down to opinions which we are all entitled to have. Programs like Talksport are there to attract controversy and split opinions.

PS I don`t like Alan Brazil either!

Clayton needs to sort out the Breakfast Show quickly. Laura Woods is hopeless. And Brazil,McCoist and co. need urgent removal to a Scottish knackers yard. It really has turned to shite early mornings.

Re: Lee Clayton
I sat next to Lee at Upton Park (West Lower) for several seasons. He was always willing to chat about the game before us and West Ham in general. He gave me the West Ham book Farewell to Upton Park on mates rates terms. He is a true hammer and is honest as the day is long. He is not a captive of GSB and by looks of things is doing a decent job at Talksport. Top man!

Re: Lee Clayton
Haven't seen the interview but if he said he'd like to see new owners that's ok with me.
I know his mum and dad they used to live near the Ferndale pub Beckton.
My Mrs worked with his mum Silvia down Central park road East Ham and she had the honour of changing his nappy once when we paid them a visit.
He's done really well for himself working his way up in journalism and he comes from a proper east end working class family.
So good for him.

Re: Lee Clayton
Yeah, don't see what the problem with this interview is. Could probably sum it up as:

Boss not willing to throw his employees under a bus.
Boss doesn't micromanage every second of every broadcast.
Football Journalists and their sources are their currency, it's not up to him to tell his employees how to talk to to about their sources. Moose isn't going to give David Gold a load of tough questions because Gold wont speak to Moose again and then Moose's value drops. same with White and Sullivan. I don't see what is so outrageous about it apart from it leading to their views being slightly biased.

I think we have this obsession about people in the media having to be unbiased, something which is impossible. Outlets just need to have a balanced amount of opinions.

Geo's line of questioning actually made me feel a bit uncomfortable. more of an interrogation than an interview.

Re: Lee Clayton
Just finished it.

Because my commute time is generally 5 mins for the last few years, I rarely listen to TalkSport at all anymore.

Because of that, I have no real criticism of him at all. He comes across well in that interview and doesn't really suggest to me that he's a board lapdog at all.

I can understand those who are sucked into the TalkSport atmosphere might have issues with him though. They want to wind you up, it's their job.

Isn't Geo Aberdeen Iron's son as well? He can feel proud of what he's done there. It was a good interview.

Re: Lee Clayton
I just watched the whole interview with Lee Clayton and thought he came across really well. I’ve always followed his career with him being a West Ham fan and his passion for the club came across as much as it ever has. He has a job to do and there will be a conflict of interest at times but that’s just the nature of it.

I really can’t stand Jim White but it was interesting to see the amount of respect that Clayton has for him. Clayton also happily accepted that Talksport antagonises the listeners at times so they call in - of course they do! But he wasn’t hiding that. Without callers there is no show. Without provocation there’s no debate.

Fair play to Lee Clayton for appearing and it was a decent insight. He seems to share the same frustrations as the rest of us.

Re: Lee Clayton
Good interview and I don’t really disagree with anything Clayton said.

I’ve noticed that Abrahams hasn’t been reporting on much WH business lately or been at many matches... he tends to get sent off to cover other matches, which I assume has been a policy decision.

White is just doing his job... it just riles us as WH supporters as (as Clayton said) we know the minutiae of the subject. I’m sure it’s the same for every other club that White pontificates on.... just ignore it take it with a pinch of salt.

paulon 1:35 Fri Feb 19

Clayton was not speaking as an isolated West Ham fan, he was speaking as the boss of Talksport. As such, he is clearly not going to hang Abrahams and White out to dry. No employer would or should.

Reading between the lines, you could see he was not pleased with Abrahams' output. He clearly had more time for White and, frankly, I could see his point. However much White might be a pompous arse, he does bring the owner of West Ham to the table and we are all capable of interpreting the why and wherefores of what's being said by Sullivan. White's irritating sycophancy is the price of that.
